The choice of this name is a tribute to the bravery of those who gave their lives to defend this land. It serves as a reminder of the unwavering spirit that has always inspired Aras Holding on its path to growth and excellence.
In September 1941, when the Allied forces invaded Iran, three Iranian border guards (Seyed Mohammad Rathi Hashemi, Abdullah Shahriari, and Malek Mohammadi) were assigned to protect the Jolfa-Nakhchivan iron bridge. Fully aware of its strategic importance, they valiantly defended the bridge for two days against the heavy Russian army before sacrificing their lives for Iran’s sovereignty.
After their martyrdom, even the invading forces recognized their bravery and honored them by burying them at the site of their sacrifice. The inscription on their gravestone reads:
“The tomb of the martyr gendarme… who stood against the invaders in September 1941 and was martyred in the line of duty.”
